  General Privacy Policy
This website is provided as a service to the A-76 competitive sourcing community in an effort to better serve those involved in A-76 costing efforts. The COMPARE Helpdesk staff is dedicated to protecting your privacy when you use the COMPARE website. Only the questions, answers, and date will be posted on the web. All personal information you submit to the Helpdesk is kept confidential and used only by the Helpdesk staff to assist in responding to your Helpdesk request. We limit access to personal information about you to employees who we believe reasonably need to come into contact with that information to provide products or services to you or in order to do their jobs.

Information Collected
When you submit a Helpdesk question, the information that personally identifies you (personal information) on the submission form allows us to contact you. The personal information we collect may include your name, title, company or organization name, work e-mail, work phone, information about your job function, and your organization or company name. Personal identification information is collected only if specifically and knowingly provided by you. This information enables us to provide support or carry out customer service associated with COMPARE and Helpdesk services you have requested. This service and support focuses primarily on receiving A-76 costing information and software technical support. This information is used first to resolve your question or issue and second to help improve the site, analyze trends and administer the site.

Protecting Privacy Responsibilities
The ultimate responsibility for protecting your privacy is yours. In order to avoid your e-mail address or other personal information from being gathered and used by others for inappropriate or harmful purposes, we advise that you be cautious about posting e-mail addresses or other personal information in the body of the submitted Helpdesk question. We will attempt to helpdesk issues by removing personal information from the text of issues that will be posted, but we make no guarantee that all personal information will be removed. As previously stated, we will not publish your personal information collected through the submission form/interface. Only the questions, answers, and date will be posted on the web.

Security of Information
The COMPARE Helpdesk is committed to protecting the security of your personal information. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. For example, we store the personal information you provide on computer servers with limited access that are located in a controlled facility. We have physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to protect personal information about you.

Use of Information
Your personal information is used primarily to contact you to resolve your issue and only if necessary. Ninety-five percent of issues do not require us to contact you directly. Personal information will also be merged with other user data to compile anonymous demographics to monitor website utilization. We may use this information in aggregate to provide more relevant content based on trends derived from analyzing demographics and question content. This information is used to create summary statistics, which are used for such purposes as assessing what information is of most and least interest, determining technical design specifications, and identifying system performance or problem areas.

Release of Information
Your personal information will not be used for any marketing, nor will your information be shared with anyone outside the Helpdesk staff. Anonymous demographics concerning website utilization are reported to the Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (ODUSD) for Installations & Environment (I&E) Housing & Competitive Sourcing Office.
